Setting your feet free, wearing flat sandals and flip flops 24/7 or walking barefoot may be one of your favorite things about summer weather, but unfortunately it can damage the skin on your feet.
Padding about in flat sandals and flip flops can cause the skin on your feet to harden, making the development of uncomfortable corns and calluses all the more likely.
This is because a lot of popular summer shoes have thin soles which can mean that the fat pad on the heel receives more pressure as the foot strikes the floor. This, combined with heat, can cause the skin to become dry and cracked, making infections more likely.
In addition to cracked heels, flip flops with foam and plastic soles can provide a breeding ground for bacteria, which multiplies in moist, hot conditions. Add in cracked heels and blisters and you could be exposing yourself to serious skin infections.
Cracked heels can be extremely painful especially when your skin starts to break and bleed. They can also limit your movements and make it hard to stay on your feet for extended periods.
Let’s also not forget that chlorine from pools as well as the saltwater from the ocean have major drying effects on your skin and can lead to discomfort over time. It is crucial to take small precautions for your feet especially during the summer as that is when they get the most exposure to rough conditions.
SkinIntegra can help bring fast, long-lasting relief to your sun-drenched, tired feet. With regular use, your feet will be softer, cracks will gradually heal, and your feet can be healthy, comfortable and problem-free all summer long…. It all starts with taking care of your feet with this simple routine:
Step 1: Get your feet ready
To avoid infection and reduce cracked heels, keep skin clean with regular washing. We recommend soaking your feet in water to allow your skin to absorb moisture, which softens your calluses, and more importantly, gives you time to relax. The temperature of the water should be warm to lukewarm but not hot.
Warmer isn’t necessarily better, so take it nice and easy and make the water a comfortable temperature. 10 minutes is plenty of time to soak your feet and get them nice and relaxed.
As for unwanted bacterial gatherings in sandals and flip flops, wipe down shoes with a disinfectant and ensure that they’re fully dry before you wear them.
Use a small towel and dry off your feet, but not completely. Leave a little moisture so that your feet feel damp but not wet – this will help the cream lock in that remaining moisture.
Take out your tube of Rapid Repair Cream and use a small amount on each foot – a little goes a long way! Use one pea-sized amount on your heel, another for the top and bottom of your foot, and a smaller one for in-between your toes.
To rapidly repair cracks and calluses, our cream combines multiple ingredients known to moisturize and exfoliate. Super plant oils Sasha Inchi from the Peruvian Amazon and Sea Buckthorn from the Himalayas provide the full spectrum of omega essential fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, to replenish missing lipids and nutrients layer by layer.
Urea gently sloughs off hard, callused skin for soft and smooth results. It has been clinically tested to show visible repair as soon as after the first day of use. It also provides anti-fungal benefits. This means that it can help fight minor fungal skin infections such as between-toes fungus. Last but not least, it is free of many known skin irritants such as fragrance, preservatives and parabens.
Step 3: Massage your skin
Our cream is designed to rapidly absorb in the upper layers of your skin, so you won’t have to massage for a long time. Take 1-5 minutes to gently massage your foot, allowing the cream to absorb well, focusing on the dry, cracked, or rough patches. Massaging helps to revitalize your sore feet…so even after the cream is absorbed you can continue massaging if you desire.
Step 4: Wait a few minutes, and you’re on your way to smooth, soft skin
Once you have massaged your feet, wait a few minutes before walking to make sure you don’t slip. We recommend wearing socks to continue the moisture lock-in process. If you are doing this at night, you might choose sleeping with your socks on, but it is not essential. If you are doing this during the day and plan on wearing sandals later, try to keep on your socks on for at least 10 minutes.
You can reapply our Rapid Crack Repair Cream twice daily and even the most severe cracks will improve in as little as 14 days. In most cases, visible results are seen after the first day and full repair after just three or four days.
Given that your feet and ankle are one of the most complex structures in the human body, not to mention your vehicle in life, it pays to not ignore cracks and calluses. Don’t let them get in the way of your favorite pair of sandals. Moderation is the key.
